Updated - 08/28/2008I decided to give this place a second try and order what they are known for. I am no porridge connoisseur but it was also decidedly bland.

08/28/2008It doesn't get more hipster-Mission than this.
Multi-ethnic, crowded, local, outdoor seating, large selection of beer, a few tasty snacks, marijuana smoke, scribbling on the walls, old Hispanic man writing his memoirs while surrounded by stoned white people with unwashed hair, etc
If you like the spirit of hipster-Mission, you'll like this. Period.

08/28/2008i saw a very strong performance on Thoroughly Modern Millie here, which I really enjoyed. The cast and staging were excellent.
The San Mateo Performing Arts Center is very nice, but I have two concerns: First, the theater was incredibly hot-- there was little to no air conditioning, and about half way through the performance, many people were using their programs as fans. Overall, it was a very uncomfortable evening.
Second, the accoustics in the theater were poor. We were sitting in the third row and had a very hard time hearing the performers sing because of the positioning of the orchestra.

08/28/2008We made the MISTAKE of going there at 4:15 pm ... the waitresses are TOO busy gossiping and playing with their cell phones. We had to wait to be greeted and seated ... even though we were the only ones in there.
Too bad we did not get the older waitress to serve us , instead we got this hillbilly lookin' chick (with a awful bad black dye job). It took her F-O-R-E-V-E-R to get us our sodas let alone take our order ... remember ... the staff was too busy catching up on their gossip, they were so loud and unprofessional, you'd think we were at the high school cafeteria ... we were wondering WHERE WAS THE MANAGER ????????? We finally had to get up and ask to place our order, the waitress seemed annoyed with us ... to make a long story short ... lousy employees ruin buisness ... hamburgers are dry ... never going back !

08/28/2008The menu is wonderful...the prices could use a reality check. Any of the desserts will blow your mind and the cool Thai inspired coconut avocado soup is out of this world.
I just wish that good, healthy vegetarian food didn't have to cost an arm and a leg. What's the point of charging *more* for sustainability? How does that get people to hop on the bandwagon? One star for missing the (Land)mark.

08/28/2008There were a couple of customers ahead of me so I had to wait a bit, but when I was helped they were very friendly and helpful! I needed 3 different filters for my newest lenses and they had B+W in all the sizes I needed. I was in and out quickly and left the store smiling at the employees jokes. I returned to the store a few days later because one of the filters I bought was the wrong size (my fault!) and they easily exchanged it for the correct one, and once again it was a great experience. It was busier than the last time so I had to wait 5-10 minutes for someone to help me, but it gave me time to browse their very abundant selection of camera bags, etc. Overall, a great store with great prices and friendly staff. I'll visit anytime I'm visiting from San Jose!

08/28/2008I love the size of this peet's, and the location is incredible for me. They make coffee super quick too which is nice. I don't always get a perfect latte at this peets but like everyone else has said starbucks isn't even comparable! I think i'll love peets forever though, its the best tasting coffee my lips have tasted.

08/28/2008So one morning i went here for breakfast. It wasn't busy so our group got a table fast. The server was very nice and i was already enjoying myself. I felt very comfortable in that restaurant. The waitress was very nice and we got our order pretty quick. The food was good, especially the pancakes. They sell the pancake mix and i wanted to buy one, but i had no money....lol. Just enough for the meal and tip.

08/28/2008Earlier this year, I was calling about 10 lawyers a day getting consultations from as many lawyers I could get. The range for the case I was trying to hire a lawyer for was from $5,000-$25,000 for the retainer fee.
Most lawyers I spoke to were helpful, seemed eager to get paid, or just plain snobby out the ass.
Anyways, I was speaking to a friend of mine who kept telling me to look up a Leon Mezzetti. I didn't take it into consideration, because he told me he was a "decent priced lawyer." So I figured just another lawyer trying to make a quick buck. My friend end up calling me again a few weeks later asking if I had phoned the lawyer he referred me to, and I said no. He told me that Mr.Mezzetti had actually helped him with his case a year ago by doing just a consultation! "I didn't pay him anything. He just gave me some real good advice, and shit, I beat my case!" So what the heck, I phoned Mr.Mezzetti's office.
I didn't get a chance to speak with Mr.Mezzetti, though I did get to consult with one of his attorneys Ravinder Singh Johal who was more than helpful. He actually spoke to me with concern and interest and gave me a few pointers. He understood I was a student and warned me it was going to get a little pricey.
Anyways, anytime I am asked about for a good lawyer, I refer Mr. Leon Mezzetti Jr. I'm majoring in criminal justice myself, and will be going to law school, and I admire Mr.Mezzetti and his accomplishments with full respect. Before he began his criminal defense cases, he was a district attorney. So you can be sure he knows his stuff and he will do all he can to fight for your freedom! He also has a team of attorneys who range from law graduates to years on the police force.
If you are looking for a good defense team, consult with Mr.Mezzetti first! You'll get the best service from him than from any other attorney.

08/28/2008I tried this cozy, family-owned restaurant with a co-workers. I ordered the beef curry + chicken tonkatsu entree which comes with miso soup or salad. While the salad dressing was so-so, I enjoyed my meal. Everyone in our group had beef curry + (item) based on one of our co-workers recommendation of the beef curry. Like past reviewers, the food and atmosphere does give off the home cooked meal vibe. I believe the beef curry was great and comforting. The tonkatsu was pretty typical -- there is no tonkatsu sauce that the restaurant provided, but I personally think the magic is dipping it with the curry. :)
3.5 stars. Not quite four stars. I'll post a follow up review when I go again.

08/28/2008Personally I am an avid sushi eater and this place literally has nothing special about it. A couple of rolls are good but not worth ever going back for. Especially for the price you pay for 1 roll, 18 dollars!, no thanks. Especially when I can tell that the freshness isn't that fresh. Some of the fish I ordered had a mushy texture which led me to believe it was frozen. The service was a joke. I waited more then 10 min just to order my drinks. The restaurant wasn't even busy. Our waiter was just standing there watching TV. He was just taking his time. The actual restaurant looks nice, tables, ambiance, and even menus. However the kitchen staff are wearing T-shirts and jeans. It just looks tacky. One of their sushi chefs had sake bombs with customers but he did it in such an obnoxious and loud way. I was so shocked since it seems like the restaurant is supposed to be upscale. Seem like whoever owns or runs this place definitely needs to figure out a whole lot because in my opinion this place is a joke.

08/28/2008Here's what one year of going to Sports Club LA and taking Demetrio's abs class once a week will do for you: you go to your doctor for a check up and he asks you if you've suddenly started doing 100 sit-ups every day. The class is definitely not for the faint of heart....I could barely make it through the first class...but stick with it and you'll be smugly happy as newcomers grunt and moan as they struggle. Demetrio is just so intense and sexy that you just can't help but love coming to class...and after awhile it gets easy so you look for more of a challenge and you add weights to your abs workout....for some reason I really loved that the room was dark. I also really love the other classes as well; weight-lifting, pilates...
I love the eucalyptus steamroom here.
The instructors and locker room staff here always remember my name. The steam iron came in handy when I needed to go straight to the airport from here once (I took a Supershuttle from the Four Seasons to SFO).
I also love the peanut butter chocolate smoothie here...and every now and then they have an event (they're always fun...like the fashion show which starred some of the instructors). The views from here looking out as you workout are very nice too.

I do not know who the hell are you but this place do not show me any safety when I go there at night. It doen't matter how good they are and how many good thing they did but at night they turn to a night club and bring tons of under ages kids standing outside the Lounge. That's show me that I can't be safety over there. Like i said before the worker there is very nice and hope to see them at other Lounge.

08/28/2008i've only been here for drinks a couple of times. it's ever-so-slightly on the fancy shmancy side, but in a "homey" way... not in a "damn that was an expensive drink!" way. the bartenders are nice and pour heavy. there's also a nice loungy area next to the bar with coushy booths and big pillows. haven't even looked a the food menu, but it's worth a go for drinks!

08/28/2008Very nice room (#8) with a good view in the afternoon before the fog rolls in and a nice big bathtub that looks out to the view. A great place to go for a romantic weekend.
There are nice hiking trails just across the road, so it was great to arrive there in the afternoon and then go for a hike before coming back and getting changed for dinner.
The breakfast in the morning was absolutely wonderful. I don't think I've ever had better pancakes.
Friendly staff all around.
Watch your gas because there are no gas stations nearby.
Only complaint was that it was a little noisy at 6am. I'm not sure if that was the staff making the noise or other guests, but I guess you get that sort of thing anywhere.

08/28/2008I worked as a 3rd key for Shiekh's in 2007. Shoes are over-prices. In response to the female's comment, yeah the pumps have more padding, but that does not necessarily mean more comfort. Long story short. Shiekh is an over-priced identity concealed payless shoe source.

08/28/2008The little man who usher's you in is soooo cute... He tried to teach us how to fold the cookies when they came hot off the press.... A lot harder then they make it look..... He will also give you a sample of a fresh cookie... we are talking still warm here.....I like to buy a bag of the flat cookies.... And make sure you ask about the x-rated cookies.... Soooo cheesy and fun.... Hand them to friends.... they get really confused!?#@

08/28/2008The food here will blow you out your MIND!
I've eaten here NUMEROUS times, and I still dine here to this day. I prefer this Thai restaurant over many classy over-priced Thai restaurants in the east bay area. Their yellow curry chicken and papaya salad are two of the best entree's I feel they serve. Over all, the food is absolutely tasteful.
The service is ACCEPTABLE. They try to be curteous, but the only problem you are faced with is if you dine in during dinner time. Dinner time is usually when they start getting crowded, and they are quick to rush you out. Their actions kind of throw off a vibe, "Hi, how are you doing? What would you like to order? Okay food is here, eat up! Here is your bill! Okay thank you now please leave!" My family & I dined here for Mother's Day and we were displeased with how they were trying to rush us out, too quick to take an empty plate off of our table. Like RIGHT when I picked up the last piece of shrimp off a plate, all of the sudden, one of the waiters came out of NOWHERE and said "All done?" and grabbed the plate.
We were very displeased with the service, but the quality of the food made it all better. Regardless of the service, I still come back, but only to order to-go.

08/28/2008Absolutely delicious food. Terrific service. Five stars without hesitation.
We were there at night, so I don't know what's outside the back windows, but a light out there so that the windows aren't just pitch black voids would have made the atmosphere feel a little more open.

08/28/2008Everything here is perfect!
We originally had a room booked at the JW Marriott, but due to an overlapping in bookings, they moved us to their sister hotel which is the Hotel 480....and they were going to comp. the room as well as pay for parking and breakfast or lunch. Once we got to Hotel 480, they upgraded us to a suite with a view of the city and bay. We left that hotel the next day paying only $4.67. (what we went over from lunch) Will go back again!

08/28/2008As some people have already said, the food is good but not awesome, but it's not crazy expensive either so it gets my vote. The service was friendly and I didn't wait too long for anything.
I'd go back, it's close to the bars.

08/28/2008Warm bread and warm cookies, which are both baked on site?! I am sold. I am not a huge sandwich fan, but I crave the sandwiches from Aroma. I love their honey mustard, their fresh lettuce (green lettuce, not iceberg) cut to fit your bread of choice and their perfectly ripe avocados. A half sandwich on a roll looks like a whole sandwich. It's a great deal and it's why they have line out the door M-F during the lunch hours (11:30-1:00).
