I love coming up to Seattle and am always on the look-out for cool bars, lounges, clubs, etc. Where are all the cool kids at these days?

Nish,
Try the Re-Bar on Howell St., near downtown. Its kinda funky and usually has something interesting going on.

I love the Chapel on Capitol Hill. Also try out Neighbours for 80's night, The Wonderbar in Wallingford if you are feeling posh, and the bar at Serafina, for a more romantic feel.

Try the See Sound Lounge in Belltown. Its very chillaxed. Good drinks, music, lighting, etc.

All some great suggestions, I will have a lot to accomplish, drinking-wise, when I'm next up. Yelp Happy Hour, anyone?

The Monkey Pub is my all time favorite bar. This is a close knit group of people and I personally invite you to meet the Monkey clan. I've been going here since I moved to Seattle! Steve and Anita are the owners, Tom is the bar manager and that hasn't changed for years!
We have 3 softball teams that play for the industrial leage: The Pounders, 86'ers and my personal favorite, Neighbor Kids. We have pick-up games on Sundays, 2pm at Dahl field in Seattle. Everyone is invited to play, come join us!

The George and Dragon Bar on the outskirts of Fremont is the best. It's got one of the best Brit Rock jukeboxes in the city and serves beer at 10 a.m. on Saturdays when the "real" football is on TV. Plus, excellent fish and chips and great bartenders. Mix and match chairs totally take me back to my favorite pub in London, "the boot".

Capitol Hill has become one of my favorite, laid-back ventures into the night. There is an Indian bar called Maharaja (fun pre-funk), right next door to a great club called the War Room. Very inexpensive for Seattle ($2 wells $3-4 mixed drinks ALL night and day at the bar, and $5 cover at the War Room on Fridays, with in and out privileges to get more of those $2 drinks next door!) and a mixed, unpretentious crowd who all want to have a good time.

I gotta say my favorite bar is Shorty's. I don't go to many bars because, well, in general I hate crowds and people. But Shorty's is a nice little rut and gives me the feeling of a dive bar without the rowdy crowd and replaces it will all the geeks and freaks.
The bar tenders remember you and never skimp on the booze. When you get tired of dealing with people you pump a machine full of quarters and curse the laws of physics and your delayed reaction time.
I like going to a place for a reason and pinball is a good excuse.

If you're looking for a great sports bar that's not way over priced check out the Ram in the U-Village.
